Ezekiel 28:9
Ezekiel 28:9 (New International Version, NIV)
Will you then say, “I am a god,” in the presence of those who kill you? You will be but a mortal, not a god, in the hands of those who slay you.
Will you then boast, ‘I am a god!’ to those who kill you? To them you will be no god but merely a man!
While they are killing you, you will not be able to say anymore, “I am a god.” You will be only a human, not a god, when your murderers kill you.
‘Will you still say, “I am a god,” In the presence of one who kills you, Though you are a mortal and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?
“Will you still say before him who slays you, ‘I am a god’? But you shall be a man, and not a god, In the hand of him who slays you.
Are you still going to claim, ‘I'm a god,’ to those who are killing you? You'll just be another human victim, not a god, in the eyes of your attackers.
Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
Do you really say, I am God, before him who is slaying you? And you are man, and not God, in the hand of him who is piercing you.
Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou art man, and not God, in the hand of him that woundeth thee.
Will you yet say before him who kills you, ‘I am God’? But you are man, and not God, in the hand of him who wounds you.
Dost thou really say, 'I am God,' Before him who is slaying thee? And thou art man, and not God, In the hand of him who is piercing thee.
Will you still say, “I am a god,” In the presence of him who kills you? But you are [only] a man [made of earth] and not God, In the hands of those who wound and profane you.
Will you still say, I am a god, before him who slays you? But you are only a man [made of earth] and no god in the hand of him who wounds and profanes you.
Wilt thou say then before him, that slayeth thee, I am a god? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hands of him that slayeth thee.
You will no longer say that you are a god when you face those who kill you. You will be a human, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.
Will you still say, “I am a god,” in the presence of those who slay you? Yet you will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.
That person will kill you. Will you still say, “I am a god”? No, he will have you in his power! You will see that you are a man, not God!
When your enemies attack you, you will no longer say, ‘I am a god.’ When they are ready to kill you, you will know that you are only human.
Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
